What advice can you give someone who wants to learn to cook?
Recommending a few good cookbooks and saying "just follow the
directions" won't cut it.
Recipe terminology and methodology can be confusing, but they're
crucial, especially when it comes to measuring. Sometimes it doesn't
matter how precise you are in measuring out ingredients, but often
using the exact amount of flour or liquid can make or break a recipe.
This is especially true when baking.
