Blackjack players in the Chicago area are used to seeing a pretty
similar set of games.
There are exceptions. The two-deck and four-deck games at
Hollywood come with tighter rules to offset having fewer decks in
play. Double Exposure at Empress Joliet is a different game
altogether.
But mostly, we see similar games at every casino. Six decks or
eight decks. Double downs allowed on any first two cards, including
after splits. Dealer stands on all 17s except at Grand Victoria,
where the dealer hits soft 17. Player may resplit any pair except
Aces - except at Harrah's and Empress Joliet, where Aces also may be
resplit.
Blackjack in other parts of the country isn't so homogenous.
