Article: Wrong tour operator can ruin spring break

Around this time every year there is always at least one scene on the evening news of sunburned teens stranded in Cancun or the Caribbean or wherever by a less-than-reputable tour operator.

The spring breakers will have crammed eight to a room to get a "great" rate and then spent every other penny on food and amusements only to find themselves stuck and broke when it's time to get home.

What's a vacationer to do? Finding a good tour operator in the first place is worth the effort and the likely additional cost, say travel professionals.
