NEW YORK With Steve Jobs, Apple Computer's interim CEO and
co-founder, set to showcase the new consumer-oriented iMac computer
at the MacWorld Expo here Wednesday, it's time for me to report on my
tests of a pre-released version of this innovative, yet
cost-conscious home computer.
The iMac, which lists for $1,299 and is likely to sell for less
than $1,200, is aimed squarely at home consumers with kids. From its
one-button Internet access to its stylish, all-in-one design to its
built-in software bundle, this machine practically screams, "the
ideal family computer."
