Two years ago, when About Face Theatre premiered Eric Rosen's mesmerizing adaptation of Jim Grimsley's gay coming-of-age novel, Dream Boy, it reached transcendent heights. So it comes as a surprise to learn that About Face has expanded the play to two acts and has had scenes rewritten. This past summer, the new version bowed at Atlanta's 7Stages Theatre, where Grimsley is a resident playwright.

Now Chicago audiences can experience Rosen's adaptation, featuring two stellar young actors from Atlanta. This production, also directed with lyrical precision by Rosen, does not disappoint. ...
