A. The main concern about "too much of a good thing" with vitamin E supplements is for those who take anticoagulants ("blood thinners") or have vitamin K deficiencies. For these people, the effects of vitamin E on blood clotting can be life-threatening.

While studies of vitamin E supplements have shown inconsistent results, for now it appears that doses of 200 or 400 IU are safe as long as there are no red flags for blood-clotting risks.
