Article: Club pros left in a fog at Whistling Straits

HAVEN, Wis. When the 36-hole leader was at 6 under par in the 32nd PGA Club Professionals Championship, Whistling Straits owner Herb Kohler remarked that a bit of wind would toughen up his 1-year-old links course.

But what happened during the final round Sunday is not what Kohler had in mind.

A southeast breeze blew in a rolling fog that caused a six-hour delay at Whistling Straits, which stretches along Lake Michigan north of Sheboygan. Play was suspended from 11:50 a.m. until 5:45 p.m. When play is completed today, the club pros' national championship won't be the only prize at stake.
