CLEVELAND Managing is much more than dugout strategy. Jim
Riggleman can attest to that, pointing out Saturday that Terry
Mulholland has to quit trying to be a manager and Terry Adams must
overcome his mental fears about possibly injuring his right elbow.
Mulholland was upset Riggleman removed him from Friday night's 5-
4
victory after Cleveland nudged ahead 4-3 in the seventh on David
Justice's two-run homer.
Riggleman said Mulholland also was annoyed with him for being
taken out in his previous start in the seventh so Manny Alexander
could pinch-hit in a game St. Louis led 3-2.
"As a manager, Terry's a pretty damn good pitcher," Riggleman said
with a rare trace of sarcasm.
