Article: Bulbs in season in Glencoe at Chicago Botanic Garden

About 240 varieties of bulbs will be for sale during "Bulb Bazaar" this weekend at the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe.

There will be 60 types of tulips, 85 kinds of daffodils and about 20 varieties of allium.

The bulbs have been carefully researched and selected for superior blooming. For example, two Botanic Garden representatives journeyed to Holland last spring to tiptoe through the tulips.

"Wildlife resistant" bulbs will be available too.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. (A members-only preview will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. today and from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday.)

The Chicago Botanic Garden is on Lake Cook Road. ...
