PHOENIX Manager Jim Riggleman didn't address Tyler Houston's
challenge over throwing a lightly hit chopper that turned into an
error. The play helped the St. Louis Cardinals score twice in the
ninth inning and win 6-5 Sunday. Riggleman said he should have held
it, and Houston said he'd make the throw again.
But Riggleman had a stinging revelation for Houston about his
future. As far as he's concerned, it's not as a starting third
baseman. He noted that Houston will again be one of his utility
players next season, playing a little at third base, catcher and
first base.
"No, I don't see him as our starting third baseman," Riggleman
