Plano might be the last place you'd expect to see a jet-setting
British peer.
Yet Lord Peter Palumbo - a London real estate developer, friend to
the late Princess Diana and godfather to a daughter of the duchess of
York - spends several weeks a year in this sleepy town 58 miles west
of Chicago where he owns two homes.
Palumbo, 64, also owns 800 acres of farmland in the area and a
collection of antique autos stored on his farm property.
It was his hobby of collecting homes designed by famous modern
architects that first brought Palumbo to Plano, where he found a rare
gem: Farnsworth House. One of only two American homes designed by
