Article: Good-time song Goodman folk tune is ripe for century change

A voice in the wilderness - the vast Internet wilderness - sends
out a desperate message to like-minded music fans:
"The `20th Century Is Almost Over,' and I've been trying to get my
local folk radio station to play the song!!" Linda from Boston wrote
on a chat site in early November. "I feel like I want to hear the
whole world singing it by the end of the year, and there is less than
60 days left!!"
And with a cyber rally cry, Linda implores: "Everyone should call
their local radio stations and ask for it!!"
Twenty-two years ago, long before Y, 2 and K were strung
together, Chicago singer-songwriters Steve Goodman and John Prine
