For a long time Mark Wahlberg turned down any role remotely connected to the music biz. During an interview for "The Corruptor" last year, Wahlberg told me "it's not that I'll never play a musician - I'd love to under the right circumstances," but only after he knew he'd firmly buried that old Marky Mark image from his rap days.

With "Boogie Nights" and "Three Kings" under his belt, it's clear Wahlberg has made his mark as a genuine box office star.
