Mayor Daley insisted Thursday that two of his wife's friends did a
"good job" on a $1.5 million O'Hare Airport concession deal, and it's
"an insult" to suggest that cutting in his pals is the cost of doing
business in Chicago.
"My wife had nothing to do with this. . . . It insults Maggie," he
said.
Grace Barry and Barbara Burrell, two friends of Maggie Daley,
reportedly received $1.5 million over three years in an O'Hare deal
with British bookseller W.H. Smith.
Daley said he has no idea who brought Barry and Burrell into the
partnership with Smith when the bookseller's O'Hare lease was
