Today's latest entrant in the "who asked ya" file is a reunited
Bon Jovi.
These '80s icons, whose tunes seemed fine only in light of the
generally sorry state of music at that time, are again capitalizing
on today's tuneful down times.
Bad music, boy bands and the nostalgic yearnings these inspire
have created a boom market for musical wayback machines like Bon
Jovi. Their set at a beyond sold-out House of Blues on Thursday
proved little more than that there is gold to be mined in people's
unquenchable thirst to hear the dross they were playing in high
school and college.
A slide show introduction with a "greatest hits" mix booming from
the speakers sounded like an '80s commercial by K-Tel ...
