The first Super Bowl that I remember is Super Bowl V between the Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore Colts in 1971. I was 8, a Cowboys fan (I didn't know any better) and had no clue about the significance of the game. As far as I could tell, the Super Bowl wasn't much different from any other NFL playoff game.

Thirty years later, Super Bowl Sunday is an unofficial American holiday. Although it determines the NFL champion, the game has evolved into more of a social event than a sporting event. Football fan or not, you feel like a loser if you're not invited to at least one Super Bowl party.
