West Street was mostly deserted at 10:15 on a steamy Sunday night
when DJ Folly pulled up to Tsunami Asian Grill in a Ford minivan.
With the assistance of a roadie, the 30-year-old disc jockey from
Bowie, whose real name is Rob Followell, unloaded crates of records,
speakers and other equipment and carried them inside the small
Annapolis sushi restaurant.
It was almost time to spin the music.
Forty-five minutes later, the lights were dimmed and some of the
restaurant's tables were pushed back to create a cozy, makeshift
dance floor. With a record needle lighted up like a welding tool, DJ
Folly began to put on the tunes: progressive house, hot house and
jungle, peppered with '70s influences ...
