Article: McDonald's moving to speed service

McDonald's executives conceded Wednesday, the same day that analysts forecast record-low first-quarter earnings, that the "Made for You" cooking system needs work.

To speed up the fast-food service, workers at the front counter will deal only with the customer and will stop helping fill orders, said Jack Greenberg, chairman and CEO of the Oak Brook-based fast- food chain.

About 500 McDonald's restaurants nationwide have started the new customer-service system.
