It can be plain or fancy, but if it's French furniture, it is
practically guaranteed to sell well. If you like the look, then check
out the quality reproductions of period pieces that constantly come
to auction. The pieces in Louis XIV, XV and XVI style reproduced in
the late 19th century, are usually well-made down to the last inch of
mixed wood marquetry inlays and ersatz gilt-bronze.
Even when they sell over auction estimate, they can still be big
bargains. Recently, a late 19th century, Louis XV/XVI-style tulipwood
parquetry and marble-top Semainiere (seven-drawer chest), was offered
