No benefit in St. John's wort: study

St. John's wort, the popular herbal supplement touted as a depression fighter, did no better than a placebo in a new study that contradicts earlier research.

The finding "was a little bit surprising to many of us," said lead researcher Dr. Richard Shelton of Vanderbilt University Medical Center. "I thought we would get some sort of benefit."
