Authors miss the point of smart growth

The folks at the Heritage Foundation are confused. At least Wendell Cox and Ronald D. Utt are. They're the authors of Smart Growth, Housing Costs and Homeownership, a recent anti-smart growth missive. I say confused because they not only accuse smart growth advocates of doing things they haven't done, but of things the smart growth people oppose.

Smart growth, if you'll remember, is a movement that seeks to inject environmental concerns into home building, to preserve open spaces, to limit waste and to reduce reliance on the automobile (thus reducing pollution).
