Pepsi Challenge returning Spots specific to cities, regions debut June 25

The Pepsi Challenge, a familiar event during the 1970s and 1980s, will once again be a highly visible part of the No. 2 soft drink company's summer marketing efforts.

The nationwide taste challenge is set to launch June 18, when a new national Pepsi commercial from BBDO/New York introduces the event. The spot, set at a California beach party, features MTV veejay Ananda Lewis, whom Pepsi executives describe as a young, vibrant personality well-suited to connect to the teen generation the soft drink maker is most anxious to have participate in the challenge.
