Ice cream and happiness, it is said, go
together like cookies n' cream.
"You cannot be a grouch and work in the ice cream business," says
Bruce Tharp, a food science professor at Penn State University who
fancies neckties in ice cream prints much as a fashionista would
Armani suits.
Adds Dale Conoscenti, a twinkly-eyed food product developer and
self-described "chefphilosopher" from Vermont, "Ice cream is such a
fun experience."
And why not? Ice cream is, by its very nature, sweet. Under
certain circumstances or shared with certain company, it is capable
of evoking all sorts of warm and fuzzy memories of childhood, summer,
first dates.
