It took Ellen Marceneiro a long time to pluck up the courage to
go into the school. "But I'd seen other mothers do it," she says,
"so I went to see the infant teacher and said, `If you want a hand,
let me know' and she said, `When can you come?' "
Ellen is one of the hundreds of mothers and fathers who have
stepped tentatively into a Liverpool classroom in recent years and
been swept into its Parent School Partnership.
Liverpool schools believe passionately that parents are a
child's best resource and draw them in with a variety of different
schemes.
