Article: The past is another profit centre

Living in the Past, the organisation that feeds on people's nostalgia for things as they used to be, is perfectly in tune with these Tory times of ours. But it goes even further than the Tories dare go, according to the mastermind behind it, Graham Whitlobe.

"When I first got involved with the nostalgia industry, I was merely restoring cottages, just to fit in with their old names. If a cottage was called The Limes, I replanted some lime trees. If it was called Well Cottage, I located the well and reopened it. If it was called Station Cottage - well, it was a bit beyond me to get railway lines reopened, but I could always install some old railway relics.
