A bottle of wine a day 'keeps angina away'

A bottle of wine a day keeps death at bay, according to Danish
researchers who have found that drinking three to five glasses
daily reduces the overall risk of death by half.
It may even have contributed to a decline in heart disease as
the habit of wine drinking has become more popular, but three to
five glasses of wine are well beyond recommended levels of sensible
drinking.
Dr Morten Gronbaek, of the Institute of Preventive Medicine in
Copenhagen, says that in the last 15 years deaths from heart
disease have declined by 30 per cent in Denmark, while alcohol
intake has been stable.
