QWhat's the difference between System File Checker and ScanDisk?
ATwo utilities, two different jobs. Microsoft's System File
Checker compares a list of Windows system files that should be
present with what's actually there. ScanDisk takes a much broader
look at the contents of the hard drive to make sure they aren't
damaged.
When Windows is running, constantly fetching and moving files,
it's possible for data to be misplaced, especially if a forced
restart or shutdown interrupts the computer's operation.
