Coyotes 5, Capitals 2
When the Washington Capitals have played well this season, they
have excelled on special teams and scored goals in bunches. And when
they have struggled, as they did tonight against the Phoenix Coyotes,
an inability to find the net and prevent power-play goals has been
the root of their problems.
The Coyotes scored three power-play goals tonight, leading to a 5-
2 victory in their home opener at America West Arena. The Capitals
have given up six power-play goals in their three losses, but are 10
for 10 killing penalties in their two wins.
Washington's power play is 1 for 16 in its defeats and 5 for 12 in
