Article: Dyson vacuum cleaner claims are a lot of hot air, says ad watchdog

DYSON, Britain's most popular vacuum-cleaner manufacturer, has been misleading customers by claiming it is healthier and "more efficient" at dealing with household dust, according to the Advertising Standards Authority.

The bagless, see-through Dyson is bought by six out of ten people buying a new cleaner, but the ASA says many claims made for the design fall short of boasts in advertisements.

It upheld 12 out of 15 complaints about claims made in three Dyson commercials. These included slogans about it being "much more efficient at removing dangerous dust particles" and offering "relief for asthmatics and allergy sufferers" and "the cleanest-ever expelled air".
