Article: French pilots to continue strike into World Cup

Air France was forced to cancel most of its flights for a seventh consecutive day yesterday as a fierce dispute with pilots over planned pay reductions appeared to hit stalemate.

No new talks between management and unions have been scheduled and the leftist government has made it clear it is willing to see the strike run into the forthcoming World Cup football tournament rather than undermine Air France's cost-cutting programme.
