Ten years of adventure in bringing art into the public realm are
celebrated in a new book, Public: Art: Space , which tells the story
so far of the Public Art Commissions Agency.
From its offices in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter PACA has
established a leading national reputation since 1987 in innovative
thinking about how artists can help lift the environment, giving
aesthetic pleasure and stimulating the public imagination.
It has been associated with many famous (or notorious, depending
on your point of view) projects in Birmingham, from the International
Convention Centre and Centenary Square to Anthony Gormley's Iron: Man
and Martin Richman's illuminated incineratorat T yseley.
