Hindley taken to hospital after collapse in cell

THE "MOORS murderer", Myra Hindley, was hospitalised after a suspected stroke in prison yesterday.

It is believed Hindley, 57, was found semi-conscious in her cell at Highpoint Prison, Suffolk at 3pm. She was taken by ambulance to the West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds.

Hospital authorities said last night that she was being kept under observation.

A prison spokesman confirmed that a female prisoner had been taken to a local hospital, adding: "We never discuss medical conditions."
