Article: Eddington set to play a different game with Sir Richard

SIR RICHARD Branson and the new chief executive of British Airways, Rod Eddington, yesterday agreed to bury the hatchet - and play a game of cricket this summer to cement their new spirit of friendship.

The Virgin Atlantic boss and Mr Eddington, who have known one another for several years, made the pact over a cup of tea at Sir Richard's Holland Park home in West London.

Mr Eddington drew the line at apologising to Virgin for the Dirty Tricks campaign. But emerging from Sir Richard's pounds 5m house after the 30-minute meeting, he stressed that he wanted to put the two airlines' acrimonious history behind him.
