INDEPENDENT NEWS & Media, the parent company of The Independent
and The Independent on Sunday, yesterday confirmed plans to seek a
stock market flotation for its iTouch mobile information division by
the end of the year.
No target date was given for the listing, which will be on the
London market. The company said its adviser, Merrill Lynch, was
monitoring market conditions. Analysts have valued iTouch in excess
of pounds 250m.
Speaking at the company's annual meeting in Dublin, Dr AJF
O'Reilly, executive chairman, said iTouch had started operations in
four more countries - the UK, Ireland, New Zealand and Australia - in
