ZIMBABWE DID not so much as defeat the West Indies in the latest
match of the NatWest Series here yesterday as utterly humiliate them.
The winning margin of 70 runs did not in the slightest flatter the
spirited, once underestimated Zimbabweans, whose third successive
victory ensured their passage to the final at Lord's on 22 July with
three matches still remaining. It left the West Indies and England,
whose cricket has been pale in comparison with their own ebullience,
to decide the other place over their last three.
Zimbabwe took the fullest toll of uninspired bowling and shoddy
fielding that offered the West Indies five chances before one finally
