THE HEINEKEN Cup quarter-final was as hard and brutal as you would
expect. As an aperitif to the Wales-England international next
weekend, it would have hit Graham Henry with the force of a Molotov
cocktail. Gloucester, at their glorious best, exposed Wales' premier
club with a famous victory at Kingsholm.
If the West Country club were deemed fortunate to beat Llanelli
here in a group match with a weird and wonderful drop goal via the
posterior of a Scarlet prop, yesterday they dumped Cardiff out with
an almighty kick up the rear.
When Gloucester are in this mood, to survive in this citadel you
need guts, character and skill. And above all a commitment to dog it
