Paula Bond was in her twenties when her pre-menstrual tension began to run out of control. She began to experience bouts of irrational anger. Her temper would cause her to start fights with people in the street or while she was out shopping. "I really got angry," she says, "but there was no rational explanation. I kept thinking really terrible things and felt like I had to lock myself away to prevent me from losing my rag. There were times when I felt I could have killed someone - if a bus was late, I'd want to strangle the bus driver. Other times I would get really weepy or my brain would feel as if it was totally addled and I had no co-ordination."
