THE TUBE strike called for today will cause misery for millions of
commuters, London Underground said yesterday.
Aslef, the union representing 80 per cent of Tube drivers, said it
expected solid support for the action from its members. London
Underground apologised to its passengers and said it would run as
many trains as possible, but warned its 3 million daily users that
severe disruption was inevitable throughout the network and
recommended passengers check news reports before they travelled.
The AA said that there would be no respite on the roads. Routes
into London would be up to one-third busier than usual, it said.
