Jon Ronson is a little worried. There is a woman using the
internet to spread the idea that the journalist and documentary film-
maker is a traitor to his race.
At his North London home, Ronson has the accursed web-site up on
his laptop computer, highlighting passages for me to read. The
problem is Ronson's tone: one of ironic, surprised naivety, both in
his writing and his TV persona. Years ago, when he was writing about
various trivialities in his weekly column for Time Out, he used his
dry wit to poke fun. But on his subsequent Guardian column, he honed
his technique into something more ingenuous; he was still funny, but
