To the Editor:
I am writing in response to Sarah Kaufman's article in the Sunday,
May 22 edition of The Washington Post regarding the current dance
program at the Kennedy Center.
As one of the few venues in the nation that remain committed to
presenting dance on an annual basis, the importance of the Kennedy
Center cannot be overstated. American Ballet Theatre greatly values
its relationship with the Kennedy Center and is very proud to call
the Center our official home as it was so named in 1971.
It is encouraging to know that at a time when audiences for
classical arts in America are shrinking, ABT's recent engagement at
the Kennedy Center was one of the company's most successful in our ...
