HEATHROW'S Terminal 5 will open for passengers exactly one year
from today, says airport owner BAA.
The first travellers to use the Pounds 4.3 billion terminal will
arrive on a British Airways flight from Hong Kong.
About 40,000 passengers will use T5 on the first day - but before
then there will be six months of tests involving 16,000 volunteers.
BA promised that T5 would be a "very different experience" from
the congestion, queues and inadequate facilities currently endured
by the 185,000 people passing through Heathrow each day.
Paul Fox, operational business director for T5 at BAA, said it
