Will 'Mrs Average Britain' take any interest in a car magazine
exclusively for women?
WOMEN drivers? (smirk, snigger). Women parking? (gales of
laughter). A car magazine for women? "You've got to be joking."
And so stand the responses to my brief (and rather depressing) stab
at market research.
Women behind the wheels are an endless source of amusement and
irritation to men. Men still harp on about how women can't read a
map, let alone drive.
Yet women now buy 42 per cent of the 2.2 million cars sold each
year, so it looks as though men are going to have to get used to us
"diesel dykes" and "non-leaded ladies" carving up their precious road
space.
Luckily we girlies have a new car magazine ...
