THE COUNTESS of Wessex and Jill Dando's fiance Alan Farthing today
launched a charity in memory of the murdered television presenter,
which aims to create a 5 million crime prevention institute.
Trustees of the Jill Dando Fund include her brother Nigel, Sir
Cliff Richard and Crimewatch UK presenter Nick Ross.
They hope an appeal to the public and to the Government will raise
sufficient funds to pay for the new academic institute, the
brainchild of Mr Ross, at University College London. Sophie, who last
night attended a reception hosted by the Corporation of London in
honour of her year of marriage to Prince Edward, said that as Miss
Dando's friend she had often called upon the presenter to ...
