Article: 'Not the worst job' in local government up for 150,000

LAMBETH council, which famously paid ex-chief executive Heather
Rabbatts 120,000 to do "arguably the worst job in local government",
is looking for her successor - for 150,000 a year.
The pay packet outstrips that of Ms Rabbatts, who is pursuing a
career in the private sector, and matches the salary of the new high
profile chief at the beleaguered hung council of Hackney, Max Caller.
Lambeth's advertisement reminds applicants the post was in 1994
"arguably the worst job in local government" but adds: "Well, not
anymore."
