THE SIX-YEAR-OLD boy who shot dead a classmate came from a
criminal and deprived family and "liked to watch violent movies".
The boy, who told police he meant only to scare the little girl he
killed, lived in a shack without even a bed and was being cared for
by an uncle known for trading guns for crack cocaine. The boy said he
found the semi-automatic handgun used in the shooting under some
blankets in a bedroom.
When police searched the house in Mount Morris township, Michigan,
where the child lived after his mother was evicted from the family
home two weeks ago, they found drugs and a loaded shotgun among
discarded vodka bottles.
