THE writing is on the wall - and every other surface you could
possibly imagine - for London local authorities in their never-
ending battle against graffiti. But now Ealing Borough Council has
devised a strategy aimed at turning the tide against the spray can
merchants and is preparing to recruit an anti-graffiti supremo to
lead the campaign.
"Ealing is an attractive place to live and we are determined to
prevent it being disfigured by vandals," says Robin Williams,
projects and contracts manager in the council's environmental
