NOT everyone loves him, but everyone admires him as a rugby
player, because Austin Healey is one of the best England have
produced.
His hallmark is his versatility.
He can play on the wing, as he does tomorrow against Australia, or
at scrum-half or fly-half.
These three roles have become highly specialised in this modern
professional age, yet Healey has the ability to adapt his own game to
suit whatever position for which he is selected. That is a truly
remarkable achievement in this era.
Yet it is this versatility that has, at times, counted against
