Suggestions that new hotels be constructed near the proposed Remington Park racetrack have led to concern among the city' s hotel industry, an industry already feeling the pinch of a down Oklahoma economy.

That concern was expressed Thursday by Orr Rivero, president of the Oklahoma City Hotel otel Association. He told the Oklahoma City Convention and Tourism Bureau that a resolution should be adopted and sent to city planning officials, requesting that no new hotels be allowed near Remington Park side north of the Oklahoma City Zoo.

Rivero's suggestion was backed by a report that at least 25 hotels in Oklahoma City are behind in their room tax payments to Oklahoma City. The report was by ...
