Article: FEDERATED STORES' SALES SHOW 4.4 PERCENT INCREASE

CINCINNATI - A 4.4 percent increase in sales to $1.5 billion was reported Monday for the first quarter of 1986 by the Department Stores division of Federated Department Stores Inc. of Cincinnati.

The Department Stores division includes Sanger Harris, which opened two stores in Oklahoma City early in March. The sales were up from $1.45 billion for the same period in 1985.

Overall, Federated reported a 5.6 percent increase in sales to $2.3 billion from $2.16 billion a year ago.

This included, in addition to the Department Stores, $209 million in sales by Mass Merchandisng stores (the same as a year ago) and a 25.7 percent increase to $110.2 million by other stores.
