Article: SOUTHWEST AIRLINES REVENUE PASSENGER MILES JUMP 14%

DALLAS - An increase of 14 percent to 7.4 billion revenue passenger miles in 1986 was reported Tuesday by Southwest Airlines Co. of Dallas, including its wholly-owned subsidiary, TranStar Airlines.

The 1986 revenue passenger miles were up from 6.5 billion in 1985. The load factor for 1986 was 58.8 percent, down from 59.6 percent a year ago.

For the fourth quarter of 1986, Southwest flew 2,021.8 million revenue passenger miles, up 26.4 percent from 1,599.4 million a year ago. The quarter load factor was 61.3 percent, up from 58.4 percent last year.
